Poetry Slam Cavan!
Cavan Poets! Start brushing up your poems and performances for the Cavan Poetry Slam on Thursday 24 September, at 6.30pm in the Front Room of the Town Hall. Your county needs you! The judging criteria is based on content and performance and there will be a few judges!
The winners of the Cavan slam (there could be two) will go forward to the Ulster Slam which takes place on Friday 2 October in Enniskillen at Blakes of the Hollow. And then the winner of that goes through to the All Ireland Grand Slam.
Kate Ennals, who organises a number of poetry events in the county, said
“I know we have fabulous poets in Cavan! I have heard so many of them at the open mics and poetry parties. Now is not the time to hide your light behind the bushel. Come and enjoy performing your poem, strutting your stuff!
“And, if you’re not performing your poem come and get involved in the night and help to judge. And eat cakes!”
Registration will take place on the night.
