As part of Cavan's 1916-2016 Centenary Programme the Hacklers are proud to present ten Civilian Eye Witness accounts of the Easter Rising taken from the book "1916 What the People Saw" by Mick O'Farrell
Venue; Cavan Library Wednesday 23rd March at 8.00pm.
These edited accounts will be recounted by ten actors playing people who were unwittingly caught up in the fighting and whose lives were dramatically affected by the events beyond their control being played out around them.
The Rebels actions in Dublin heralded a week unlike any other they had ever experienced. Whether fearful of starvation, appalled by the horror or excited by the sheer drama of events, these accounts present the human side of the Rebellion.
The Hacklers like to challenge the audience with unusual and demanding pieces of theatre and this piece is no exception along with a great ensemble of actors and live music it will make for a very entertaining and thought provoking event.
