Friday, 24th August A 'salon'-themed pop culture event Culture Vultures curated and presented by journalist and editor Tony Clayton-Lea. On the bill for this special event are three fantastic Irish acts The Pale, Barry Devlin (Horslips), and writer Colm Keegan....

The Pale has ploughed its furrow for over 20 years, making music that has never imitated a style in order to fit into a passing trend. Ever the individualist, the band’s lead singer, Matthew Devereaux, has said that what he loves about the band is its “constant forward march in pursuit of the new, the striving for something of our own and the unflinching belief in the ability of music to express what it means to be human.”

Barry Devlin One of the co-founding members of iconic Irish trad/rock band Horslips, Barry Devlin has many strings to his bow. In an exclusive public interview with Irish Times writer Tony Clayton-Lea, he discusses his lengthy career as musician, scriptwriter, director, filmmaker, tutor - and a few more sideline activities besides.

Colm Keegan Dublin poet/writer Colm Keegan teaches in schools, prisons, community centres, and addiction support groups across the country. His poems evoke what it’s like to live in a Dublin that avoids cliched description. His poetry, observes writer/poet Dermot Bolger, “brims with frenetic energy and a hard-earned street-wise lyricism, bereft of false notes or unearned experience." Colm’s latest collection, Randomer, is published by Salmon Poetry Press.
