PROJECT Belturbet committee would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our local TD's who were elected to the new Dáil. We are looking forward to engaging with you and our county Councillors, as we continue to enhance and support Belturbet in 2020 and beyond. We have some fantastic projects in the pipeline, using of our town revitalisation plan for Belturbet for guidance/ideas.
On St. Patricks Day 17th March at 3pm at Turbet Island Carpark, we launch our Turbet Island Dreamscape Trail. This is very exciting for Belturbet as it is an permanent outdoor art trail on Turbet Island. We truly hope it will bring lots of visitors to Belturbet, to visit our very unique trail. Local artist Jackie O'Neill has worked with Turbet Island Project participants to collect stories about Belturbet. Jackie created 13 pieces of original art work to tell the stories of folklore, storytelling, mythology, imagination & history to life on Turbet Island. We worked with Cavan based Celtic Fairy Collection to bring 15 unique Fairies called KNOW ME to the Island. The "Know Me" fairy asks people to look after the Island and the Nature around us, Know your surroundings, Know the importance of protecting our wildlife and nature. We are very excited about this new feature on this ancient land of Belturbet and the River Erne.
Building Positive Relations. This project is supported by the EU's PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
We very much hope you can come along and celebrate with us!
