Do you know a natural born storyteller? Perhaps it is your grandmother or grandfather, or an older neighbour. Or perhaps you’re over sixty-five and want to release your own inner storyteller. No previous experience in writing is necessary to participate in the project.

The Arts Office in conjunction with the Cavan Age Friendly Programme and Anthony J. Quinn supported by Creative Ireland Creativity in Older People Fund are running a Story Telling Project called Lost Landmarks. The aim of this project is to preserve and bring back to the collective memory these landscapes and its people in the form of stories and visual artworks.
The project will use a mixture of Zoom online writing workshops, emails, printed booklets of writing exercises and tips, telephone and voice recordings to connect with as many older people as possible, allowing them to share and exchange their stories and reminiscences. Participants need not worry if they feel their written English is a little rusty. The ability to tell a story is paramount and the tutor Anthony J. Quinn will be on hand to provide support.
Workshops are at 11am on a Monday, commencing 19 April - particpants can join at anytime - and will occur every fortnight until 12 July.
If you’re interested in participating in the project, or know someone who would please email:anthonyjquinnwriter@gmail.com or Cavan Arts Office ncosgrove@cavancoco.ie/ 049 4378546.
