The Tide by Tara Maria Lovett

Ramor Theatre present

The Tide

By Tara Maria Lovett Directed by Conor Sheridan.

What dreams come when the tide goes out? Two strangers meet by chance after a swim. Ivy watches the tide dreaming of a sea god to take her away from her drab life. JC dreams of an exciting life across the sea in America. But both are trapped. What happens when an escape plan is borne out of the turning of the tide? What depts will they swim to for freedom and a chance to have their dreams?

The Tide is a darkly comic play looking at what happens when an idea becomes a reality. It explores ordinary people with ordinary lives who decide they don’t want ordinary any more but extraordinary. They want the dream. They want what seems impossible. They will have what they want at last. They will have freedom, but at what price?
