Playing For Your Audience
Due to demand Cavan Theatre Lab are running a second workshop on Sunday 4th February from 10.00am to 6:00pm in the Ramor Theatre, Virginia. The workshop costs €25 and spaces are limited, booking is made directly with the theatre on (049) 854 7074.
This one day intensive practical workshop for actors led by Louis Lovett will focus on
• Bridging the divide between the performer and the audience.
• Our physical presence and how to arrive at a state of calm and openness to our audience.
• How the actor’s focus can become the audience’s focus.
• How to bring mischief into your play. Be BOLD in your play and how to FAIL with aplomb.
• Chorus work. Moving and working as a team.

About Louis Lovett
Louis Lovett’s own unique style of performance embraces the spirit of play – an essential component for any practitioner in providing quality theatre experiences for audiences of all ages. The workshop is open to professional/semi-professional theatre practitioners and amateur enthusiasts looking to advance their skills. Previous drama experience is required and participants should wear comfortable clothing/footwear suitable for movement. Lunch is not included but tea and coffee will be provided.

Louis is Joint Artistic Director of Theatre Lovett whose work includes They Called Her Vivaldi, The True Story of Hansel and Gretel (Dublin Theatre Festival 2015), Mr. Foley, The Radio Operator, A Feast of Bones (Dublin Theatre Festival 2013), The House that Jack Filled (Dublin Theatre Festival 2012) and The Girl who Forgot to Sing Badly (The Ark/Theatre Lovett, US/AUSTRALIAN tours). Louis has performed in and directed several productions at The Ark, A Cultural Centre for Children. Television & Film includes Moone Boy, Stella Days, Anseo, Killinascully, The Tudors, Showbands, Story Lane, The Morbegs,; Radio: All that Fall, Embers (Gare St. Lazare Players / RTÉ Radio1); The Quest (Lyric FM); The Third Policeman’s Ball and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
