Noel Monahan has seven collections of poetry, his most recent ‘Where The Wind Sleeps’ New & Selected Poems, Salmon May 2014. Literary awards include The SeaCat National Award by Poetry Ireland, The William Allingham Poetry Award, The Kilkenny Poetry Prize and The PJ O’Connor RTE Radio Drama Award. His work has been translated into Italian, French, Romanian and Russian and his poetry was prescribed text for the Leaving Certificate English. He holds an MA in Creative Writingand is co-editor of Windows Publications.

Heather Brett was born in Newfoundland, Canada, raised in Northern Ireland and has spent the last 26 years in Cavan. She has been Writer-in-Residence for Cavan & Louth and has edited around forty anthologies. Heather is editor of Windows Publications with a special interest in younger writers. Her fourth collection of poetry entitled ‘Witness’ will be launched this weekend on Sunday 10th May at 4pm

Tony Curtis, multi award winning poet was born Dublin, studied literature at the University of Essex and Trinity College, Dublin. The author of twelve books, his most recent ‘Folk’ (2010) is rich and overspilling with poems you want to return to time and again. Tony, who has read worldwide, has just completed a reading tour of American universities.

Blánaid Murphy has been Choral Director of the RTE Children’s Choir Cór na nÓg and is currently Musical Director of Dublin Bach Singers, Carlow Choral Society and the Royal Irish Academy of Music Chorale. She has released many recordings and in January 2013 at the invitation of the Sistine Chapel Choir, she directed the Palestrina Choir singing at Papal Mass in St Peter’s Basilica. Since 2013 she has been director of Cavan’s County Choir, as part of Culture Cavan.

Cavan County Choir have been together since 2013 under the direction Blánaid Murphy. In 2014 ’Testament’ by Heather Brett was set to music by award winning composer Sean Doherty and performed by the choir in the Cavan Burren Park.

Heather Brett & Noel Monahan will host the event and guests will include Jack Keyes, former Manager with Cavan County Council. Cavan County Choir will give a performance under the direction of Blánaid Murph. Finger food and refreshments will be served by Cavan Crystal Hotel.
