Arts Awards


The Arts Awards are intended to stimulate and support the ongoing development of the arts in County Cavan. This award scheme is intended to assist organisations and individuals in developing existing and supporting new and innovative Arts projects and events in County Cavan. Cavan County Council strives to work with individuals and communities to promote access and participation in all arts activities.


Closing date for receipt of completed applications for the Arts Awards is Thursday 26 January 2017.

Professional Development Awards


The Professional Development Awards for Artists is now open.

Closing Date for the Professional Development Awards is Friday 3 February 2017.


This fund provides funding to individual professional artists based in Cavan who earn a proportion or all their annual income through their artistic practice. Cavan County Council will offer the Professional Development Award in respect of professional artists practicing in the following art forms in 2017: architecture, literature, theatre, dance, film, music, visual arts, traditional arts, youth arts, collaborative arts or in multi-disciplinary contexts.


Moth Awards


Cavan County Council Arts Office invites artists and writers under 30 to apply for a week-long residency at The Moth Retreat.

The Moth is home to the

international art and literature magazine of the same name, and its junior counterpart The Caterpillar, as well as hosting several major literary and art prizes, including the €10,000 Ballymaloe International Poetry Prize.  





Uillinn Award


West Cork Arts Centre in partnership with Cavan County Council is offering a Studio Residency Award to an artist who is interested in developing their arts and health practice in the autumn of 2017.
