Geopark Poetry Map Submission Invited

We know you love the land, particularly the region of Marble Arch Caves UNESCO Global Geopark and the arts.

Currently, we are seeking contributions on a geoheritage theme to create a Geopark Poetry Map, curated by Bee Smith. We have commissioned five poets to create new work and I am happy that we announced them yesterday on Poetry Day Ireland. ( https://www.marblearchcavesgeopark.com/2021/04/open-call-for-poems-to-map-sites-in-marble-arch-caves-unesco-global-geopark-this-poetry-day-ireland/)

We are looking to map the Geopark poem by poem and for that we need you and your poetry writing friends to contact me for submission guidelines at GeoparkPoetryMap@gmail.com.

Poems need to have a strong geoheritage theme and be site specific. The Geopark staff have created a wonderful document with plenty of research on twenty-one sites at your fingertips. That can be forwarded to you when you email GeoparkPoetryMap@gmail.com.

The deadline for submissions is 31st May 2021.

The Geopark Poetry Map is a project funded by Geological Survey Ireland's Geoheritage Fund and has support from Cavan Arts Office. The digital poetry map will go live in October 2021.
