The Ramor Theatre presents ‘A Holy Show!’

A Holy Show is the title of a new play by Padraic McIntyre which has been Commissioned by Ramor Theatre under an Artist in Residence grant from the Arts Council for Ramor Players to feature at the Town Hall Cavan during the Fleadh on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th August. It will then return to the Ramor for three Nights and onto Backstage Theatre Longford in mid September.

The play is set once again in the Glendaduff Inn which featured in the Night
Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down but the new owners JJ and Mona Gilmartin have big plans for this rural establishment with the return of the Fleadh to Cavan for 2011. Two sets of visitors, a polish girl and three priests throw these plans into disarray.

As with Padraic’s previous play ‘The Night Joes Dolan’s Car Broke Down’, ‘A Holy Show’ features music and comedy. John O’ Grady makes a return appearance in a role that is very different to that of Joe Dolan. Alongside him are some new faces to the Ramor Players delighted to be given the challenge of bringing this new piece of theatre from page to stage. Tickets for the Town Hall will go on sale in the next two weeks at Multisound. The show is directed by Padraic with Liam Daly as assistant Director. Cast includes John O Grady, Peter Denton, Vincent Lee, Fergal Donnolly, Bernie O Reilly, Manus Halligan, Alice Lynch, Conor Shaffrey and David Scanlan.

Dates: Town Hall, Cavan: 18th & 19th August 8.30 p.m.
Ramor Theatre, Virginia: 1st 2nd 3rd September
Backstage Theatre Longford: 8th 9th 10th September.
